PLATEAU STATE UNIVERSITY, BOKKOS EMPOWERS STAFF WITH ADVANCED DIGITAL SKILLS FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE
Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has taken a bold step toward enhancing institutional efficiency by training its staff in advanced digital skills designed to boost performance and service delivery across the university system.
The five-day intensive capacity-building program brought together both teaching and non-teaching staff and was organized in collaboration with the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), headquartered in Abuja.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University, Professor Shedrack Best, described the training as the first in a series of continuous professional development initiatives aimed at upgrading the competencies of staff for effective service delivery.
Represented by the Director of Advancement and Linkages, Associate Professor Rev. Fr. Andrew Dewan, Professor Best reaffirmed the university’s commitment to partnering with reputable institutions and organizations to strengthen academic content and raise institutional profile.
“The university has recorded tremendous progress over the years, evident in the numerous awards and recognitions earned by our graduates both locally and internationally. We are proud of their achievements,” he stated.
He encouraged participants to apply the digital knowledge acquired to improve academic and administrative performance within their respective departments.
The Coordinator of the Training, Mr. Nansel Danboy, congratulated the participants, noting that they had benefited from a valuable and high-impact programme. “This training is not easy to come by. Please revisit your notes and practice what you have learned,” he advised. Also speaking, the Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mr. Sati Satmer Dapel, commended the management under Professor Best for the initiative and assured that the ICT Directorate would continue to strengthen digital literacy among staff and students of the university.
The event climaxed with the presentation of certificates to participants who successfully completed the training.
Facilitators at the program included Dr. Iwebo Jude Eze, Dr. Abraham Saidu Turaki, and Dr. Dongnaan Godwil Apameh.
