About the Department
The Department of Crop Science trains skilled professionals equipped with the knowledge to drive sustainable agricultural production across Plateau State and Nigeria. Its BSc. Crop Science programme prepares graduates to solve the real challenges farmers face in managing the soil for optimum crop production, while conserving the environment. Combining hands-on training with research in every aspect of crop production, the department is committed to raising enterprising manpower that helps position Plateau State as the true “pot of food” in Nigeria — studied over eight semesters through a blended learning model.

Vision
The vision of the Crop Soil Department is to produce manpower that are skilled and equipped with knowledge required for sustainable agricultural production and generating enterprise that will position Plateau State as “pot of food” in Nigeria.
Mission
The overall mission of the Department of Crop Soil is in addition to adequately raising the needed manpower for direct agricultural production but also to be equipped to initiate and execute research in all aspects of crop production while conserving the soil environmentally friendly manner.

O’Level Requirement
A minimum of five (5) credits in relevant subjects, obtained in not more than two sittings. The credits must include English Language and Mathematics.

Submission of JAMB results is not mandatory at the application stage. Upon admission, the provided results are verified for authenticity and compliance, including JAMB Registration.
