About the Department

The Department of History and International Studies at Plateau State University, Bokkos, was established in the 2010/2011 session with nineteen pioneer students. Its B.A. programme treats history as the unfolding story of humanity, equipping students with robust theoretical and methodological tools to critically engage with Nigerian, African and global affairs. Through rigorous research, creative writing and analytical training, the department fosters critical thinking, integrity and service to humanity — producing world-class graduates who understand the complexities, transformations and continuous dialogue that define human history and international relations.

At least five SSCE credit passes — including English Language and Mathematics — obtained in not more than two sittings.
