Plateau State University Bokkos on June 24, entered a collaboration with the Association of Communication Scholars of Nigeria for a ground-breaking seminar aimed at promoting digital skills and opportunities for enhanced productivity. This initiative marks a significant milestone for PLASU as it ventures into the realm of digital innovation and technological advancement.
In a historic first, Plateau State University Bokkos, in conjunction with Kola Daisi University Ibadan, hosted a virtual seminar under the banner of “Ask Me Series 2024”. The seminar was designed to equip staff and students with a comprehensive understanding of emerging technological developments and the myriad of opportunities they present. 
The theme of the seminar, “Technology and Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Communication”, served as a focal point for insightful discussions and knowledge sharing.
The two-hour seminar featured experienced facilitators, spearheaded by Mrs. Tarae Onyeje, who delved into a diverse range of topics including digital skills acquisition, communication technology tools, digital monetization, and ethics, among others. 
Notable participants in the seminar included Mr. Yakubu Ayuba, the Registrar of Plateau State University Bokkos, Assoc. Prof. Fr. Andrew Dewan, the Director of Advancement and Linkages at the University, Associate Prof. Ishaya Dashol; the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Danladi Zumbun, as well as Dean Faculty of Management Sciences. Others are Assoc. Prof. Priscilla Marcus and Dr. Adeyanju Apejoye, the Head of the Mass Communication Department at PLASU, who served as the host.
One of the key concerns addressed during the session was the apprehension surrounding the potential loss of human jobs to artificial intelligence and robots. 
Mrs. Onyeje, in her address, emphasized the pivotal role of technology in augmenting productivity in the workplace. She reaffirmed that rather than displacing human jobs, technology has the capacity to enhance the quality of work when embraced and effectively utilized. 
Mrs. Onyeje encouraged both teachers and students to actively engage with the diverse opportunities afforded by technology, empowering them to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the modern world.
