Welcome to the Faculty of Agriculture at Plateau State University, Bokkos!
Our vision is to make this faculty the top choice for both staff and students to achieve their career goals. Located in the scenic town of Bokkos, within the central senatorial zone of Plateau State, our campus is home to over six thousand university students.
As a newly established faculty, we aspire to become one of the leading agricultural institutions in Nigeria. We have the necessary resources and facilities to kick-start academic excellence and research citations. Our programs are enriched through collaborations with other university departments and faculties.
We emphasize the importance of further education, encouraging students to pursue honors, master’s, and PhD qualifications immediately after their undergraduate admission. Our world-class facilities support our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

The faculty staff engage in a range of research activities and community service notable among which is the research on and the recording, transcription and translation of folktales, songs, proverbs and riddles from Plateau State tribes conducted by the Department of English Language, the community theatre outreach of the Department of Theatre Arts, all sponsored withTETFund institute based research (IBR) grants. In addition, individual faculty members conduct researches, with some on postdoctoral research outside the country, and a trail of presentation of academic papers at local and international conferences. The vivacity of the staff is reflected in the students, some of whom have won national and international awards.
FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences inculcates a multi-disciplinary approach which aims to provide:
1. Training opportunity for sustainable bio-resource management and entrepreneurship in agricultural production.
2. Opportunity for vocational training and professional workshops for retooling/reskilling in different areas of agriculture.3. Relevant supportive resources for teaching and research in agriculture and allied disciplines.
3. Opportunity for specialization and advance study in major disciplines of Agriculture especially in the area of cold storage facility, processing of fruits and vegetables, livestock development 4. Enhanced agricultural production through community-based and farmer-driven research
