In a decisive bid to transition academic theory into high-yield commercial viability, the Vice-Chancellor of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, Professor Shedrack Gaya Best, has led a high-powered delegation on a strategic working visit to mechanise farms in Oyo State. The mission is specifically engineered to forge international-standard partnerships and acquire elite dairy cattle to fortify the University’s expanding Faculty of Agriculture.
Accompanied by the Dean of Agriculture, Professor Hosea Finangwai, Professor Best interfaced with foremost experts in the dairy industry to unlock opportunities tailored to add immense value to PLASU’s agricultural programmes. A central pillar of the engagement is a proposed joint venture with Milkin Barn Agro Services Limited, a deal set to secure pedigree dairy cows for the newly established PLASU Dairy Farm and to catalyse broader cross-regional collaborations.
The Dairy experts Milkin Barn Agro Services Limited operates as a premier, fully mechanised dairy facility situated within the burgeoning Fasola Agribusiness Hub in Oyo State.

The corporate farm specialises in the intensive rearing of exotic Holstein heifers and the meticulous crossbreeding of local stock to generate high-performance pedigree dairy cattle.
During the institutional visit, Professor Best led team were conducted on a comprehensive oversight tour of the sprawling complex by the Resident Equipment and Facility Manager, Engineer Namo.
The extensive walkthrough provided the PLASU delegation with vital, firsthand insight into the mechanics of industrialised dairy farming. It further crystallised how a structural partnership with the firm will bridge the agricultural research, student vocational mastery, and state-wide food security.
With this proactive approach to institutional growth, the Professor Shedrack Best administration is once again demonstrating the foresight to elevate PLASU into a modern, self-sustaining citadel of global excellence.
