The faculty staff engage in a range of research activities and community service notable among which is the research on and the recording, transcription and translation of folktales, songs, proverbs and riddles from Plateau State tribes conducted by the Department of English Language, the community theatre outreach of the Department of Theatre Arts, all sponsored withTETFund institute based research (IBR) grants. In addition, individual faculty members conduct researches, with some on postdoctoral research outside the country, and a trail of presentation of academic papers at local and international conferences. The vivacity of the staff is reflected in the students, some of whom have won national and international awards.
Wuyep Solomon Zitta holds a doctorate degree in Geography from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He had his Masters and Bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Technology Yola now (Modibo Adama University of Technology, Yola) and University of Jos respectively. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Geography and the Dean Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Plateau State University. He Lectures courses in the area of Environmental Resource Management, Remote Sensing and Cartography. His research interest is in the issues of Human-Environment Interaction/Management, Agro-climatology and Climate change. He has published articles in reputable journals both at Local and International Level https://scholar.google.co.za/citations . He has presented at local and international conferences. He is a member of the Nigerian Environmental Society and Association of Nigerian Geographers.
