Introduction

Department of history and international studies

The Department of History and International Studies at Plateau State University, Bokkos, established in the 2010/2011 session with nineteen pioneer students, is committed to a philosophical framework that views history as the unfolding story of humanity within its dynamic environment, encompassing relationships, institutions, and interactions at local, national, and international levels. Guided by the belief that accurate, holistic interpretation of these processes is essential, the programme equips students with robust theoretical and methodological tools to critically engage with Nigerian, African, and global affairs. Ultimately, the B.A. History and International Studies seeks to produce world-class graduates who understand the complexities, transformations, and continuous dialogue that define human history and international relations.
