EASTER MESSAGE FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR, PLATEAU STATE UNIVERSITY, BOKKOS
On behalf of the Governing Council, Senate and Management of Plateau State University [PLASU] Bokkos, I wish to extend my warmest greetings to our students, staff, and partners on the occasion of the 2026 Easter celebrations. As we celebrate, I urge us all to reflect on the profound sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who bore the sins of mankind on the cross of Calvary. May this season inspire us to demonstrate love, peace, and unity in our daily lives, embodying the very essence of His teachings.
In the same spirit, I have approved the closure of all academic and administrative activities on Friday, April 3rd and Monday, April 6th, in alignment with the public holidays declared by the Federal Government. All lectures and official university business will resume in full on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026.
On a more somber note, I wish to use this medium to express my heartfelt condolences to the Executive Governor and Visitor to our University, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and indeed the entire citizenry of Plateau State, following the recent security breaches in parts of our state capital.
I must, however, salute the Governor’s unwavering resolve and commitment to restoring lasting peace across the state. His efforts have been instrumental in ensuring that Plateau State University remains a sanctuary for learning.
While we celebrate this achievement, we must not become complacent. I call upon every member of our university community to continue supporting this administration through fervent prayers and active participation in community policing. Let us remain vigilant and committed to our mutual safety at all times.
I wish you all a peaceful and spirit-filled Easter celebration.
Professor Shedrack Gaya Best
Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos
