Introduction to Crop Science

Philosophy

The guiding philosophy of the Department is to raise graduates that will be adequately positioned to provide solution to Plateau farmers in particular and Nigerians in general to challenges in the areas of managing the soil for optimum crop production.

Vision

The vision of the Crop Soil Department is to produce manpower that are skilled and equipped with knowledge required for sustainable agricultural production and generating enterprise that will position Plateau State as “pot of food” in Nigeria.

Mission


The overall mission of the Department of Crop Soil is in addition to adequately raising the needed manpower for direct agricultural production but also to be equipped to initiate and execute research in all aspects of crop production while conserving the soil environmentally friendly manner.

ADMISSION OPTIONS

Entry Requirements

The result must include a minimum of five credits in the following subjects in not more than two sittings:

  1. English Language
  2. Mathematics

 

Please note that submission of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) results is  not mandatory at this stage. However, upon admission to the university, the provided results will be thoroughly verified for authenticity and compliance with the stated criteria, including JAMB Registration.
