The Librarian Plateau State University Bokkos,Associate Professor Victor Chuks Nwokedi has left the services of the University to take up another appointment as pioneer University Librarian and a management staff of Federal University of Agriculture at Nembe,Bayelsa State one of the newly established Federal Universities.
Nwokedi who took up appointment with Plateau State University Bokkos two years ago impacted immensely in ensuring with the support of the Management and state government that the University got full accreditation of its Management Studies and Accounting Programmes last year as well as the recent resources verification of 16 Postgraduate programmes and four faculties and seven departments.
In a brief ceremony while handing over to Mrs Zainab Maren who will be Coordinating the affairs of the University library pending the appointment of a new Librarian,staff of the University library showered accolades and encomiums on Professor Nwokedi for his humility and professionalism.
Some of the staff expressed sadness for his departure but expressed gratitude that he had impacted them positively within the short period they had encountered him but thanked God that he was leaving for good.
In his remarks Professor Nwokedi thanked the State Government and the University Governing Council for giving him the opportunity to serve the state and prayed for divine blessings and protection of the University and its host communities.
He urged the new Coordinator of the University library Mrs Mrs Zainab Maren to work harmoniously with her colleagues to ensure the success of the library in the coming accreditation exercise and further develop the library while assuring of his support to serve as a consultant when the need arises.
In her acceptance remarks, the new Coordinator, Plateau State University library Mrs Zainab Maren assured of her determination to continue with the good work started by the outgoing librarian and wished him well in his new appointment.
