The Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos, Professor Matur Malau Benard says his administration is ready to welcome criticism that is aimed at repositioning the institution on the path of greatness.
He stated this when he received in his office the accreditation team from National Universities Commission and other experts from the Departments of Computer Sciences and Mathematics respectively.
Professor Matur, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Associate Professor Jurji Nengak Gomos, told the team that accreditation is a normal ritual in the University system which facilities and manpower are assess for smooth running of programmes.
The Vice Chancellor, notes that no university has it all in terms of quality facilities, and solicits for suggestions that will help build the University.
Speaking on behalf of the accreditation team, Professor G. U. Garba who is from Amadu Bello University Zaria, sought for corporation from the management in carrying out their assignment.
The team made up of the following:
(1) Professor Ajibola Saheed (New Open University of Nigeria)
(2) Sa' adatu Ibrahim (National Universities Commission Abuja)
(3) Professor Obikwelu R. Okonkwo (Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka)
(4) Professor Ibidapo Akinyemi (Mountain Top University, Ibafo, Ogun State)
(5) Uche Ogbajie (National Universities Commission)
Other Management and Staff who led the team to the various Departments and other facilities of the University for accreditation were: The Director, Academic Planning, Professor John Barnabas Nvau; Deputy Director Academics, Doctor Goteng Tongshinen; Professor L. P. Damuat, Gayie Ezekiel; among others.
