PROFESSOR BERNARD MALAU MATUR HAS TAKEN OVER AS THE FIFTH VICE CHANCELLOR OF PLASU.

As Professor Yohana Izam bows out of office, his successor Professor Bernard Malau Matur said he will put aside sentiments of any kind and work towards the sustained growth of Plateau State University, Bokkos.
He stated this when he took over the mantle of leadership as the 5th substantive Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University today.
The handing over ceremony which held at the Senate Chambers of the University, was well attended by dignitaries, friends and well wishers from all walks of life.
Shortly after the symbolic handing over ceremony, Professor Bernard Matur said, he will operate an open door policy thereby welcoming all ideas regardless of tribe or any affiliation.

The out gone Vice Chancellor Professor Yohana Izam thanked staff, students as well as the government of the Plateau State under the leadership of Governor Simon Lalong for the support received.
He appealed to the new Vice Chancellor to consolidate on the legacies of the founding Fathers of the university.

Professor Bernard Matur before his appointment, was the immediate past Commissioner of Higher education, Plateau State and a Professor of Entomology and Parasitology.
Aged 54, Professor, Professor Matur also worked with the University of Jos, University of Abuja and was a consultant to the British Council in 2008.
His appointment followed the expiration of the five year tenure of Professor Yohana Izam which terminated on the 28th of February 2023.
The Butura dancers, Asharuwa group and students from the Department of Theater Art, added colour to the event with their performances.
