PLASU VC ELECTED AS NIOB 21ST NATIONAL PRESIDENT

The Vice Chancellor of the Plateau State University Bokkos, Professor Yohana Daniel Izam has been elected as the 21st President of the Nigerian Institute of Building, NIOB. Until his appointment, Professor Izam was the 1st Vice President of the NIOB. He is expected to serve for a period of two years, 2021-2023.

News reaching us from Lagos where the 51st AGM and Conference of the Institute is being held, described the event under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniels, as colourful and attracted participation of an array of building development practitioners. A keynote address by Femi Falana SAN had advocated the need for engagement of technologies, standards and regulatory frameworks to defeat the menace of quackery in the building industry.

A consummate academician, administrator and building practitioner, Professor Izam will be expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in uplifting the building profession and stemming the tide of building collapse in the country through fine tuning of legislations, training and retraining of practitioners in line with global best practices.
Plateau State University Community congratulates Professor Izam over his election and pray that this will spur him to further ensure a quantum leap of Plateau State University's academic and infrastructure profile.
