Staff of plateau state university, Bokkos been assured of freedom to join association of their choice without let or hindrance so long as the right procedures for documentation are followed.
Vice chancellor of the university professor Doknan Sheni stated this while addressing senior non-teaching staff of the university required from staff who wanted to join union or associations was a written resolution of the intending members accompanied by mandate for the deducting of monies from their salaries in the line with financial regulation against unforeseen litigations by any member or group in the future.
He said belonging to union or association is a voluntary wish by individual staff members adding that the primary aim of association or union was to better the lot for its member but there were statutory and the organization where such union members are found.
Lending their voices name to the discussions held some staff of the university who had pencilled third names to be SSANU member derided the ongoing media progestin that dialogue and reason should be allowed to prevail rather than mudslinging.
The Vice chancellor, plateau state university Bokkos professor Doknan Decent Dajuma Sheni has appealed to the Association of the National Accountants of Nigeria ANAN to consider collaborating with the university interacting development project.
Professor Sheni who state this when he played host to the executive officers of the plateau state chapter of ANAN let by the branch chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Makut commended the association for introducing the one (1) year professional training programme which has gone a long way in providing and new graduates with basic professional skill to enhance their performance.
Professor Sheni said with the kind of professional expertise that ANAN exudes, there is every need to involve it in providing practical guideline to programmes in the faculty of management science in the future accreditation of programmes.
Speaking earlier plateau state chairman of NANA Ibrahim Makut said the association which came in being in 1984 has been involved in the training and retaining of professional Accounting in Nigeria adding that graduate with B SC. Accounting from the faculty of management science of the plateau state university and other HND Accounting graduates from polytechnics in the country.
Mr. Makut also used the occasion to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the association will be holding its meeting in plateau state and that the association has chosen plateau state university as one of the three places to visit during the meeting where certain will be made regarding collaboration.
